One of the most popular winter sports and recreation destinations in Georgia is located in the Borjomi Region, 1700 m above sea level on the northern slope of Trialeti Range, 180 km to the north of the capital Tbilisi. Not inferior in quality to its European fellows, it is oriented for both fans of outdoor activities and professional athletes.

The climate of Bakuriani is well-known for its natural treatment benefits. That is one of the reasons why a lot of travellers go to Bakuriani during every season.

Winter activities

Due to its long winters, from December to March, the resort is a paradise for skiers and snowboarders alike. It is also a superb venue for children to engage in winter sports and activities. It is the best four-season mountain resort, an ideal destination for recreational purposes as well as for sport and nature lovers. 

Here, you can enjoy the downhill ski runs, cross-country trails, horseback tours, ice skating, sledding, snowmobiles, or simply take long walks through beautiful snowy forests.

Currently, Bakuriani includes 3 ski areas: Didveli, Kokhta, and Mitarbi and offers: 8 Ski lifts, 27 km of ski runs 15% with artificial snow, levels of ski tracks - intermediate, advanced, and expert, night skiing. Meanwhile, 3 new chairlifts with a total length of 5 km will be installed in the Didveli area from the 2021 winter season.

Summer activities

Bakuriani is a 4 season resort that offers not only winter but summer attractions such as mountain biking, hiking, horse riding, camping, etc. In summer, the cooler Alpine air offers much-needed relief from the stifling heat of the city.
